An anesthesiologist at a pain clinic in Surrey has been charged with one count of sexual assault after an alleged incident during a physical exam.
Fifty-four-year-old Olumuyiwa Bamgbade was charged Sept. 13 after the BC Prosecution Services recommended charges.
On July 18, Mounties received a report that a woman had been allegedly sexually assaulted by a doctor during an exam at a clinic on 152A Street near 66A Avenue in South Newton.

Surrey RCMP Special Victims Unit took over the investigation, police say, and after charges were recommended, Bamgbade turned himself into the Surrey courthouse.
Bamgbade was released from custody with conditions, police say, which include not being alone in an examination room with a woman, and he must display a notice in his examination rooms that informs patients that all interactions with women must be done with a chaperone.
