Heads up if you commute through North Delta — the new Nordel Way overpass crossing Highway 91 is open.
The B.C. government says the crossing will improve traffic flow, save time, and provide better safety on the stretch of highway.
It’s all part of a $260-million provincial highway project, with support from the federal government, with the goal of improving road safety and supporting economic growth south of the Fraser River.

The Nordel Way crossing is the final interchange built as part of the project. It includes ramps to and from Delta that the province expects will cut down on travel time.
With the completion of the overpass comes traffic pattern changes in the area. The provincial government is advising drivers to follow the signs on the overhead guides.
Eastbound drivers can expect to use the new crossing when heading to Nordel Way east and the new loop ramp to go north on Highway 91 and get to the Alex Fraser Bridge when driving east on Nordel.
Northbound drivers will see a new signalized intersection at the top of Highway 91 for traffic turning onto Nordel Way west and Highway 91C westbound.
