Vancouver police are once again searching for a suspect in connection with an unprovoked machete attack that left two people seriously hurt on the Downtown Eastside this spring.
The VPD says the 37-year-old, who has been charged with two counts of aggravated assault, is missing after he was granted bail last week.
Kenneth Stephen Solowan “disappeared” from the Surrey residential treatment facility he was ordered to live at. While police say he has been known to spend time in the Chinatown and Downtown Eastside areas of Vancouver, his current location is not known.
Police have said the June 19 incident near the Empress Hotel, in the area of Main and Hastings streets, left the two victims with “significant” head and neck wounds.
