Metro Vancouver’s first major wind event of the fall is expected to arrive on Monday afternoon.
Environment Canada has sent out a special weather statement for Metro Vancouver, and areas of the Lower Mainland.
Wind gusts up to 60 kilometers per hour are expected to begin around noon and will start to ease in the night.
Moreover, areas closest to the water will likely be hit with the strongest winds.

The statement warns that because of the dry weather, you should watch out for things like falling tree branches.
It says the windy conditions “may toss loose objects and cause drought-weakened tree branches to break. These may give rise to injuries, damage, or power outages.”
Environment Canada says the winds are a result of a cold front that will sweep through the South Coast.
