Foreign Affairs Minister Mélanie Joly met Tuesday with her Japanese counterpart Yoshimasa Hayashi in Tokyo.

The two adopted a plan to boost co-operation on defence and economic security.

That includes formal talks on an intelligence-sharing pact, in the face of growing threats from China and Russia.
