Vancouver election: How to make your vote count

With the municipal election just days away, time is running out for you to cast your vote if you haven’t done so already.
The City of Vancouver is urging voters to be prepared and not delay in getting their voices heard.
Those who are not available this Saturday and requested a vote-by-mail package must return their ballot no later than 8 p.m. on Oct. 15.

Voters can send their package through the mail with free return postage or drop off at secure locations.
The city stresses that Vancouverites should consider the delivery standards set out by Canada Post, adding ballots received after 8 p.m. Saturday will not be counted.
Instructions about how to fill out the ballot and how to send it back are on the each package. The same information is available online in multiple languages.
The Election Office — located at 305 West 8th Avenue — is open Tuesday until 5 p.m., so those who want to vote by mail still have time to pick up a package. The last opportunity to do so is Friday, Oct. 14 until noon.

There is an opportunity for advance voting in-person. People can cast their ballot on Tuesday, Oct. 11 or Thursday, Oct. 13, from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. at any of the 22 voting locations in the city.
On election day, Oct. 15, people can vote at any of the 82 locations, between 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.
