The unseasonably warm fall Metro Vancouver has been experiencing could lead to more broken temperature records this weekend.
CityNews Meteorologist Carl Lam is predicting a high of 20 degrees in Vancouver on Saturday, which would beat the previous record of 19 set in 1963.
Records are also at risk of falling Sunday.
“The old record is 18.8 degrees set back in 1997. Our forecast high for Sunday is 20 degrees so we’re going to be watching both days very closely to see if we do actually break any records,” Lam explained.
Despite the continued warm trend, the forecast does show signs of a cooldown post-weekend.

Fog clearing in White Rock. Another record high yesterday. It got up to 19.9. Old record 18.9 from 1993. Likely not record setting along the coast today but record heat coming for the weekend. @CityNewsVAN pic.twitter.com/T7mCD93VG1
