Abbotsford elects new mayor Ross Siemens

Abbotsford voters have elected a new mayor, choosing Ross Siemens to lead the community for the next four years.
This comes after Henry Braun, who gained national attention during last year’s devastating floods, announced he would not be seeking re-election.
Siemens was running against three other candidates, including Troy Gaspar, David Pellikaan, and Manjit Sohi.
The councillors who have been elected include Dave Sidhu, Patricia Ross, Les Barkman, Patricia Driessen, Mark Warkentin, Kelly Chahal, Dave Loewen, and Simon Gibson.
Voters have also elected seven school trustees: Preet S. Rai, Korky Neufeld, Shirley Wilson, Stan Petersen, Mike Rauch, Jared White, and Rupi Kanda-Rajwan.
