Megan Knight defeats Darryl Walker to become White Rock mayor

There is a new mayor in White Rock.

Voters have elected Megan Knight, who narrowly defeated incumbent Darryl Walker Saturday.

Knight previously served on White Rock city council, from 2014 and 2018. Her city biography notes that she is a recipient of the Queen Elizabeth II Platinum Jubilee Medallion for community service.

Walker was first elected as mayor in 2018. He has a long career in public service. He has lived in White Rock since 1970.

Erika Johanson and Scott Kristjanson were also in the running for mayor.

Six councillors have also been elected to serve the next four years. They are Christopher Trevelyan, Ernie Klassen, David Chesney, Elaine Cheung, Bill Lawrence, and Michele Partridge.
