Accused B.C. killer tops Canada’s 25 most wanted fugitives list

A B.C. fugitive is at the top of Canada’s most wanted list and there is a $250,000 reward for information leading up to his arrest.

Investigators are offering up a sizeable reward, up to $250,000, to anyone who can help lead to the arrest of Canada’s most wanted fugitive.

The Bolo Program updated on Tuesday its list of the top 25 most wanted people in the country. The number one most wanted person is Rabih “Robby” Alkhalil, who has been unlawfully at large for months.

Alkhalil escaped from the North Fraser Pretrial Centre in Port Coquitlam in July. He was standing trial for the 2012 death of Sandip Duhre, who was shot and killed at an upscale downtown Vancouver restaurant. Alkhalil has since been convicted of first-degree murder in connection with this case.

Alkhalil was already serving sentences for directing the 2012 murder of Johnnie Raposo in a Little Italy café in Toronto, as well as for his role in a drug trafficking case in Quebec.

“He’s a twice-convicted murderer. He has extensive ties to organized crime,” said BC RCMP Deputy Commissioner Dwayne McDonald Tuesday.

“After orchestrating brazen murders in Vancouver and Toronto one decade ago, he fled to Greece where he was ultimately arrested and extradited to Canada.”

There are three other suspects on the list who are wanted by investigators in B.C.: Amardip Singh Rai, Oliver Ole Langelid, and Quinten Anthony Meyer.
