Surrey house fire forces multiple people out of their homes

Crews battled a large house fire that displaced multiple people in Surrey.
According to the RCMP, a police officer spotted the fire while passing through the area of 140 Street near 100 Avenue Thursday morning.
Surrey Fire was called in and helped evacuate neighbouring homes while they tackled the flames. Despite multiple evacuations, no injuries have been reported so far.



The cause of the fire is still unclear, but investigators say it may have started in an abandoned house and spread to others.
The fire was visible from surrounding communities, with many people reporting thick smoke towering over the area.

140 Street was closed between 100 Avenue and 102 Avenue as crews work.
