Man injured after robbery, stabbing: Victoria police

Police in Victoria are looking into a series of incidents that took place on Friday night including a robbery, hit and run, and stabbing that left one man with injuries.

According to a VicPD media release, it happened just before 11:30 p.m. when officers were called to Simcoe Street for reports of a man that had been attacked by two other people, saying he also had his vehicle stolen.

Police say the victim had arrived at a nearby residence when he was approached by two other men he didn’t know. Police say there was an “altercation” in which one person was stabbed, with the two men fleeing in the victim’s car.

The victim was taken to the hospital for treatment for non-life-threatening injuries, police say.

As officers began searching for the stolen vehicle, police were called to reports of a hit-and-run on Fairfield Road a short time later. Police say there was evidence of a “significant” collision involving the stolen vehicle and a parked truck. Witnesses told police the vehicle sped away after the collision. Police found the stolen vehicle shortly after.
