Langley shooting victim identified

The homicide team is now identifying the man shot and killed in Langley Thursday night.
The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) says it appears 35-year-old Bittu Chatchot was targeted in the shooting.
Sgt. Timothy Pierotti says that IHIT is identifying Chatchot with the hopes that anyone with information or who knows him comes forwards.
“If you have information about this homicide and have yet to speak to the police, now is the time to come forward,” he said.

The shooting happened in the Willoughby area of 211B Street near 77A Avenue around 11 p.m.
Later that same day, Langley RCMP got calls about a car fire in the area of 232 Street and 76A Avenue. The burning vehicle, a Ford F-150, matched the description provided by witnesses of what a suspect may have been driving after the shooting.
The homicide team is asking anyone with dash-cam video from the area of the shooting between 9 p.m. and 11 p.m. Thursday, or who has any information, to contact IHIT at 1-877-551-IHIT (4448) or by email at ihitinfo@rcmp-grc.gc.ca.
