In an alert from The District of Squamish, it says the attacks happened Thursday morning, and involved a sow with a cub.
The service says that in the first case, one person was “jogging along a trail at 10:30 a.m., when she was attacked after coming upon two bears.”
“A second attack was reported as conservation officers were already en route, when a woman reported she was attacked by a bear while walking along a trail. A second bear was seen nearby,” it explained.
The Squamish Estuary trail network, which includes several hiking trails, has since been closed.
