Homicide investigators called to Chilliwack

The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) has been called to Chilliwack after the discovery of two bodies in a home on Tuesday.
Just before 2 p.m., Chilliwack RMCP was called to a residence on South Sumas Road between Unsworth Road and Lickman Road for a report of two deceased people inside.

Investigators at the scene determined the deaths “appeared suspicious.”
“At this stage, it appears to be an isolated incident and it is not believed that there is a threat to the public at this time,” a release from IHIT said.
Homicide investigators say they’ll be working with Chilliwack RCMP, adding the investigation is in the “evidence gathering phase.”
IHIT says it is looking to see if the incident may be tied to gang activity or drug activity.
