    The Vancouver Police Department has launched its 2023 police dog calendar. Proceeds go to the BC Cancer Foundation and the BC Children’s Hospital Foundation.

    They tackle crime every day, now they’re raising money for a good cause.

    The latest Vancouver Police Department Police Dog calendar has been released, all to support local charities.

    “This year’s calendar features 14 of the VPD Canine Unit dogs, and stunning photos that showcase them at work and having some fun,” Const. Courtney Srigley, VPD dog handler, said.

    Proceeds from calendar sales are split evenly between the BC Cancer Foundation and the BC Children’s Hospital Foundation.

    “The calendar was originally created in 2010 in honour of Candy Anfield, who passed away from cancer,” she said. “Since 2010, the calendar has raised almost $500,000, with your guys’ support.”

    Anfield was a VPD officer who lost her battle with cancer in 2004.

    According to police, the calendars will be available for purchase at the VPD Public Information Counters on Graveley Street and Cambie Street, as well as at Vancouver Community Policing Centres around the city. The can be purchased online through the Vancouver Police Foundation.
