One person has died after a police shooting in North Vancouver, prompting an investigation by the province’s police watchdog.
North Vancouver RCMP says on Saturday evening, officers responded to reports of a person who had allegedly attacked another person with a weapon on Hamber Place near Mt. Seymour Road.

That same evening, police received a different report of a person trying to break into a nearby home, which Mounties believed to be the same person involved in the alleged attack.
Police say when they tried to arrest the person, a “confrontation ensued,” leading to an officer firing their weapon.
