Sexual assault, breach of trust charges approved against Surrey RCMP officer

A Surrey RCMP officer already facing charges in relation to a misconduct investigation will respond to five additional charges, including for sexual assault.
The BC Prosecution Service announced the five new charges Wednesday against Cpl. Peter Leckie over allegations of misconduct.
Leckie is accused of using police resources to get contact information of members of the public with the intent of engaging in relationships with women both on and off duty. The allegations involve three people between January 2014 and October 2020.

The new charges announced Wednesday include one additional count of obtaining computer services by fraud, one count of sexual assault and three counts of breach of trust, Surrey RCMP said.
Charges of breach of trust and fraud were approved on Jun. 29, 2022.
Leckie will appear in court to respond to the new charges on Dec. 14.
