TransLink releases train-shaped keychain for Metro Vancouver transit

TransLink’s new Mini-Train isn’t one you can ride, but it’ll fit nicely on your keys if you can find one.

The light-up Compass Mini-Train is similar to a Compass Card and Wristband with it’s fare reloading and tapping features.

According to TransLink CEO Kevin Quinn, the similarly released Compass Minis and Compass Wristbands were very successful. He hopes transit users are on board with the company’s unique approach to a day-to-day accessory.

“The Compass Mini-Train is a new and exciting addition to the Compass lineup,” said Quinn in a statement from TransLink.

“I’m sure customers will appreciate the fun and quirky design of the new Compass Mini-Train.”

The Compass Wristbands and Minis were a limited release in 2018 and 2019 and quickly sold out.

Resellers took advantage of limited quantities and quickly posted the accessories online for marked up prices.
