The Vancouver Fire Rescue Services says three fires happened in the Downtown Eastside last night.

VFRS says the fires were found in single-room-occupancy hotels.

According to the fire department, two were set intentionally and another has been deemed suspicious.

The Vancouver Police Department says the first fire happened around 3 a.m. on Cordova street.

Another fire happened later in the evening at a Ramada Hotel suite on Pender St. Police claim the fire was started intentionally and arrested one man. Investigations are still ongoing, with no word yet on where the third fire occurred.

VFRS says crews got on site quickly to all three fires and were able to prevent further damage.
