YVR airport just announced Monday was their busiest day for the year, so far.
The airport tweeted it had 70,761 expected passengers while the daily average number it expects for the next two weeks is at 64,511 travellers.
Travellers are taking to social media with concerns of long wait lines, unclaimed bags, and worries over delayed and cancelled flights.
My son has been stuck at Vancouver airport for more then 36 hours @westjet waiting to get on a plane to Toronto. They just keep cancelling. Problems with Calgary & Edmonton too. Hopefully you don’t have to wait as long?

In a response to a customer’s tweet, YVR says there is no issue with its baggage system and it is the airline’s responsibility to transfer baggage from the aircraft to the carousels.
The airport earlier tweeted that it had mobilized all its available staff and it’s looking to “operate at the highest safety standards.”
A snowfall warning has been issued across much of Lower Mainland, as the airport’s website shows numerous flight delays and cancellations.
