Threat on YVR flight under investigation: RCMP

Just before midnight on Friday, Dec. 30, officers from Richmond RCMP responded to a possible threat to an individual aboard Flair Airlines flight originating from Edmonton.
Flair Flight 2799 arrived at YVR at 11:44 p.m., and was reportedly held on a taxiway until about 1 a.m., Saturday, Dec. 31., as the RCMP conducted an investigation.
According to Cpl. Dennis Hwang of the Richmond RCMP, an individual on this flight received electronic message on their mobile device of a possible threat, and immediately advised the authorities.

“Threats or perceived threats, in any form, will be fully investigated,” Hwang said.
The aircraft was eventually cleared, and passengers were allowed to deplane at approximately 2:15 a.m. The investigation is active and on-going.
CityNews has received unconfirmed reports that the incident may have been due to a possible bomb threat.
