A road rage incident involving bear spray late in 2022 has Richmond RCMP asking for help in finding a suspect.
Just after 7 p.m. on Dec. 27, 2022, Mounties were called to an area along Steveston Highway between Gilbert Street and Housman Street for reports of an assault.
Police say the victim reported a black Hyundai was following him closely through the Massey Tunnel, and continued following as he exited Highway 99 on the Steveston Highway off-ramp.
As the two proceeded westbound, police say the driver of the Hyundai was swerving between lanes behind the victim until they passed No. 4 Road, where police say the suspect cut the victim off.
Investigators say the two exited the vehicle, which is when the driver of the Hyundai allegedly bear-sprayed the victim. The suspect is said to have then fled westbound on Steveston Highway.
The suspect is described as wearing black or dark clothing. Police say the victim was driving a gray four-door Tesla.
RCMP is looking for dashcam footage from 6:40 p.m. through 7:15 p.m. from the areas described.
