No outside suspects sought in Surrey murders: IHIT

Homicide investigators say there are no outside suspects being searched for in relation to the deaths of three people found in a Surrey home who are believed to be family.

Sgt. Timothy Pierotti with the Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) says the incident appears to have just involved members of the home in the Fraser Heights neighbourhood.

“The evidence does suggest that this was an isolated incident, but what happened within the residence, transpired between these three people,” he told CityNews.

Pierotti says the victims — a 24-year-old man, and a man and woman in their 50s — appear to be part of the same family.

IHIT was called in after the Surrey RCMP found the three adults dead in their home on 112 Avenue near 156 Street around noon on Monday.

“Investigators will continue to be in the area speaking with neighbours throughout the day,” Pierotti said. “As of right now, preliminary evidence suggests there’s no outstanding suspect. So we’re not ruling out any investigative theory.”

“It’s a tragic incident,” Pierotti continued. “We understand that these types of things can affect an entire community.”

Police say there is no risk to public safety.
