16-year-old wanted for charges of aggravated assault and robbery

Police in Abbotsford, B.C. are looking for a 16-year-old boy who is wanted for multiple charges of robbery, and aggravated assault.

The Abbotsford Police Department says Diego Guevara was first arrested in September, following the stabbing of a 37-year-old woman the previous month.

According to an AbbyPD news release, Guevara was released from custody Oct. 19, 2022 pending his next court appearance, but he failed to appear. This prompted a warrant for Guevara’s arrest being issued Nov. 9, 2022.

“All attempts to locate Mr. Guevara have been unsuccessful to date. Today the Abbotsford Police Department was granted a court order to seek public assistance in locating Mr. Guevara who is a youth and is currently wanted on three counts of Robbery and Aggravated Assault,” read the AbbyPD release.

AbbyPD says no further information on Guevara can be released to due his status as a young offender, but they ask anyone who can help locate Guevara to contact the Abbotsford Police Department Major Crime information line at 604-864-4850.
