Surrey shooting sends one person to hospital

A 44-year-old man has been taken to the hospital with serious injuries after a shooting in the Whalley neighbourhood of Surrey Wednesday.

According to the RCMP, officers received reports that multiple shots had been fired near a convenience store along 104 Avenue west of 132 Street just before 2:30 a.m.

The man was found in the area and rushed to the hospital.

Investigators say the shooting appears to have happened after a fight between “parties believed to be known to each other” escalated.

No arrests have been announced and police say they are still working to identify possible suspects.
