The Peace Arch border crossing was closed for about an hour and a half Saturday night due to a bomb scare.
In a statement to CityNews, the Canadian Border Services Agency (CBSA) says an American entering the Douglas Crossing indicated to officers they had a bomb in their vehicle.
Both northbound and southbound traffic was shut down around 8 in the evening, with traffic rerouted to the Pacific Highway Crossing.
Already queued vehicles at Douglas Crossing were rerouted through the NEXUS lanes.
“The police of jurisdiction declared the vehicle safe and the point of entry was fully operational by 9:30 p.m.,” CBSA said.
CBSA says the driver of the vehicle was processed “in accordance to Canadian legislation” and returned to the U.S.
