IHIT announces charges in 2022 Coquitlam murder

A man from Surrey has been charged with second-degree murder in a stabbing that happened in Coquitlam in Feb. 2022, IHIT has confirmed.
IHIT says 21-year-old Jeffrey Stevens has been identified as the suspect in a homicide involving a 66-year-old man found with stab wounds at a strip mall on Schoolhouse street.
The man was later identified as Terry Miller. He was taken to the hospital but later succumbed to his injuries.

Investigators were able to locate and arrest Stevens Friday night.
“Yesterday’s arrest followed a year of dedicated work by investigators,” said Sgt. Timothy Pierotti, of IHIT. “I’m proud of the hard work of the investigators who were committed to seeing this through.”
Stevens was also charged with aggravated assault in relation to a second surviving victim.
