Vancouver Island earthquake hits late Thursday night

There was a late-night earthquake off the coast of Vancouver Island Thursday.

Earthquakes Canada reports a 4.8 magnitude quake struck just before 11 p.m.

The epicentre was about 160 kilometres west of Port Alice, near Northern Vancouver Island, at a depth of 10 kms.

There are no reports of damage, and no tsunami warning was issued.
