If you saw a SeaBus vessel surrounded by police boats and a helicopter near North Vancouver Thursday, TransLink says there’s nothing to be concerned about.
The transit authority tells CityNews it was conducting a “dry run for the annual security drill, as per Transport Canada’s regulatory compliance.”

That drill was scheduled for Thursday, March 9.
“This is a yearly training exercise to ensure SeaBus staff are trained to keep customers safe. The drill is being conducted on a spare SeaBus vessel and no passengers are aboard,” an email from TransLink explains.
We have been advised this is a training exercise. ^CK

It notes the dry run started at 10 a.m., wrapping up at 1:30 p.m. It included the RCMP’s Lower Mainland District Emergency Response Team.
Many people took to social media to share videos and images of what they were seeing.
