The family of Vancouver Canucks fan-favourite Gino Odjick is looking for his 1994 Western Conference Championship ring, saying it has been missing for a few years.
Dina Odjick, Gino’s sister, says she thought the ring was in their mother’s safe but hasn’t been able to find it since she died a year and a half ago. Speaking with CityNews, she says since her brother passed away, the family would like to have the ring to further commemorate him.
“It’s something that we’ve been thinking about a lot since he passed to try and find that ring. We’ve looked everywhere and we just can’t find his ring,” she said.
“His kids and grandkids, most of them have never seen the ring. So, it would be nice for them to have something from their father to remember him when they won the 1994 western conference.”
Dina says the ring went missing from their family home in Maniwake, Quebec, the town where most of Gino’s family resides.
“We have a showcase of him and I think it would be nice to let the people see [the ring] too,” she said.

Since Gino’s death in January, he has been remembered as a beloved Canuck who put his heart and soul into every shift he played. He also had an impact on the local Indigenous community, with the Musqueam Indian Band holding a celebration of life for Odjick after his passing.
“Gino gave a lot of us Rez kids someone to look up to. When a lot of our friends were wanting to be Trevor Linden and Pavel Bure, here on the Rez we wanted to be like Gino. He was the man for us,” Musqueam member Carl Point said at the time.

Odjick played eight seasons with the Vancouver Canucks from 1991 to 1998, after being drafted by the club in 1990. He was a part of the 1994 squad that went to the Stanley Cup Finals, for which he earned the ring that now appears to be missing.
The late enforcer has been honoured with tributes at Canucks games, and, most recently, through a limited edition warm-up jersey that was designed by his cousin.
Dina says it’s been touching to see all the support for her late brother in the weeks since his passing.
“I knew that he was loved but I never thought he was loved that much, and respected,” she said.
She asks that whoever has the ring contact her directly through Facebook.
