Canada’s Kids Help Phone launches mental health campaign

Kids Help Phone, which has offered free, accessible support to Canadian youth for decades, has launched a new mental health campaign called ‘Feel Out Loud.’

Chief Youth Officer Alisa Simon calls it the largest movement for youth mental health in Canada’s history.

“We were able to launch an unbelievable campaign with an anthem that brought together over 50 Canadian artists who believe in youth mental health, and created an unbelievable mash-up of Serena Ryder’s What I Wouldn’t Do with Leela Gilday’s North Star Calling,” she said.

We’re happy to share the video premiere of “What I Wouldn’t Do (North Star Calling)” by Artists for Feel Out Loud, featuring 50 artists from across Canada. Produced by Bob Ezrin and executive produced by Randy Lennox. Join us in the #FeelOutLoud movement,” Kids Help Phone said in a tweet.

Simon says young peoples lives have become more complex, and, since the COVID-19 pandemic, demand for their services has grown exponentially.

“Since March 2020, we have supported young people 14 million times,” she said.
