Vancouver Best Buy robbery suspect threatened security: police

Police in Vancouver say a man who stole from a Best Buy store and then threatened security with a gun on Wednesday hasn’t been caught.

In an email, the Vancouver Police Department (VPD) says it happened just before 6 p.m. at the electronics store on Cambie Street and W 7th Avenue, where police say a man stole a battery worth $32.

As he was leaving, police say the man was confronted by store security, where it is alleged he pointed a gun at them before fleeing.

It is not known by police whether or not the gun was real.

No arrests have yet been made in the case, and police are continuing to investigate.
