An iconic Richmond fish and chips restaurant says it’s closing one of its locations after 23 years.
Pajo’s Fish and Chips says it’s “extremely saddened to announce” the closure of the Garry Point Park concession in Steveston, with the owner explaining the city has chosen another vendor to set up shop at that location.
“While our family-owned business has become part of the fabric of the Steveston community – many of you have become part of our extended family as well,” the company wrote in a social media post, thanking customers.
“It is almost unthinkable and with extremely heavy hearts that we anticipate serving you for the last time on Friday, March 31, 2023.”
While the Garry Point Park location will be closing, Pajo’s fans will still be able to dine at its flagship Wharf location, less than one kilometre away near Bayview and Third Avenue.
“Please come support and join us as we say our last goodbyes!” the business said.
According to the company, Pajo’s first opened in 1985 as a stand at Steveston’s Wharf.
In addition to the Garry Point and Wharf locations, Pajo’s also has restaurants in Port Moody and at Vancouver International Airport.
