Bloody IKEA rug dropped off at RCMP detachment connected to violent crime: police

Mounties have confirmed that a bloody blue IKEA rug that was turned in to the Barriere RCMP is associated with a violent criminal act.

According to a BC RCMP release, the 5’x8′ area rug is believed to have come from the Kamloops region. However, investigators are unsure of the specific circumstances surrounding the blood on the rug.

“Investigators believe the nature of the offence was targeted and that no danger to the public exists.” said S/Sgt. Jason Smart.

Police have attached a stock image of the rug and are asking the public’s help in figuring out its origin.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the South East District Major Crime Unit Tip Line at 1-877-987-8477.
