Metro Vancouver long weekend forecast

If you were hoping for some warm, sunny spring weather this Easter long weekend, you likely won’t find that around Metro Vancouver.
The forecast includes plenty of April showers for the first extended weekend of the season.
CityNews Meteorologist Carl Lam says Good Friday looks to be the driest day of the bunch, with some “limited sun” by the afternoon.
“Saturday looks a bit drier, especially in the morning, but once we get into the afternoon some of that light rain does return,” he said.
He says Easter Sunday is shaping up to be a total washout.
“Early estimates are for 20 to 30 millimeters of rain, some of which will be heavy at times. Certainly, there could be some higher amounts there too. So we’re definitely going to keep an eye on Sunday because it is going to be very, very wet all across the Lower Mainland,” he said.
For those looking to have an Easter egg hunt, people might have to get creative.
“It’s going to be very, very wet. Definitely the sign for an indoors Easter egg hunt, unless you want those Easter eggs to be floating in some puddles,” he explained.
