Dozens of varieties of colourful tulips can be spotted in Abbotsford, as the annual tulip festival is underway.
According to Lakeland Flowers’ website, the 2023 Abbotsford Tulip Festival has started and is set to run every day from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. until May 14.
“With 5 kms of tulip-lined pathways, you will have the opportunity to walk among 70+ varieties of tulips, blooming in all different colours, shapes, and sizes,” Lakeland Flowers’ website reads.

It explains the family who owns the business has “deep roots in flower farming.”
“Initially, our plans were to host smaller crowds to enjoy the flower fields. After hearing how the crowds wished that Abbotsford still had a tulip festival, we decided to bring it back and planted tulips, winter canola, daffodils, blooming cover crops, hydrangea, peonies, lavender, and sunflowers,” Nick Warmerdam, the owner of Lakeland Flowers, said in a news release.

“We love seeing families and friends create memories at the farm. Visitors will be able to see the flowers from multiple angles.”
Now, it puts on “one of the largest tulip displays in Canada,” with millions of tulips on display and spanning over 27 acres.
Tickets range from $8 to $25 and can be bought online.
