Body found in Pitt Meadows, IHIT called in

The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) is investigating after a body was found in Pitt Meadows Monday.
IHIT says Ridge Meadows RCMP officers responded to a call around noon just west of the Golden Ears Bridge, where they found a body in a wooded area.
RCMP say their investigation led to believing the death is suspicious, prompting IHIT to be called in.
“While it is early in the investigation, the man has been identified and police advise there is no threat to general public safety,” reads a release from IHIT. “No names are being released at this time pending notification of the family.”
