Surrey RCMP looks to identify remains found in Cloverdale

Two months after human remains were found in Surrey, the RCMP is hoping the public can help identify them.

Mounties say the remains were found in an empty lot in the CLoverdale area of Fraser Highway and 190 Street on Feb. 13.

It’s not believed anything criminal led to the person’s death. The RCMP says while it’s been working with the coroner to confirm the identity of the person, investigators have not been able to make any links to ongoing missing persons files.

The person who was found is described as a man between 20 and 50 years old. He is between 5’8″ and 5’9.5″ inches tall and had short black hair when he was found.

The coroner says the man has a tattoo (pictured above) of “Angelica” written in cursive on his left upper chest, and a green and red sleeve tattoo on his right shoulder.

The man also has a surgical plate on the right ulna bone — which is found in the forearm.

When he was found, the RCMP says the man was wearing a blue baseball cap, blue jeans, black Globe brand skate shoes, a white short sleeve t-shirt, and a blue Cheetah brand watch.

The Surrey RCMP is hoping someone can help identify a man who was found dead in the Clayton area in February. He was wearing this blue hat at the time.

“We are hoping that someone will recognize the distinct tattoo or clothing and be able to help identify this person,” said Surrey RCMP Corp. Vanessa Munn.

Police are asking anyone with information to contact investigators at 604-599-0502.

Editor’s Note: The Surrey RCMP has clarified that the remains were found in Cloverdale on Feb. 13, not in Clayton on Feb. 23.
