Delta crash leaves 1 dead: police

Police in Delta say one person has died after a crash early Monday morning.

The Delta Police Department (DPD) says two cars were involved in a collision at the intersection of Scott Road and 84th Avenue around 5 a.m. that resulted in the death of a woman from Surrey.

Police say the cause of the crash is unknown, but the other driver stayed on the scene and is cooperating with investigators.

“Our thoughts and condolences are extended to the family and friends of the victim of this collision,” the DPD said in a news release.

The DPD is asking anyone with information or dashcam footage to call 604-946-4411 and quote file number 2023-9769.
