Man charged with murder in 2022 Vancouver nightclub stabbing

Police in Vancouver say a suspect has been charged with second-degree murder in connection with the stabbing of a 19-year-old Naseb Fazil outside of a nightclub last year.
The Vancouver Police Department (VPD) says 25-year-old Mohammed Cortes Torres was arrested on Sunday, after nearly a year-long investigation.

Police say an investigation was launched on May 23 of last year, after a fight broke out between a large of people on SW Marine Drive and Hudson Street outside of the Gallery Vancouver nightclub.
The victim was found suffering from stab wounds and despite efforts from emergency crews, he died in hospital.

Police say at the time of the stabbing Cortes Torres was living in Surrey, but investigators believe he has been staying on Vancouver Island.
