Vancouver Coastal Health (VCH) says a local McDonald’s may have been exposed to hepatitis A.
The McDonald’s in question is located at 3695 Lougheed Highway, and VCH says it could have seen multiple exposures between April 19 and May 9.
For those that did eat there, VCH is advising you to monitor yourself for symptoms such as feeling very tired, not feeling hungry, losing weight, and pain on the right side of the belly.
In addition, for anyone who is showing any of those symptoms or thinks they may have been exposed, VCH suggests they see a doctor to get vaccinated against hepatitis A.
“A free dose of hepatitis A vaccine is available for those who are eligible at public health clinics and pharmacies throughout the VCH region,” it said in a release.
VCH adds “risk of transmission to the public is low” but maintains that anyone who had been to that McDonald’s should monitor themselves, as it can take two to seven weeks to show symptoms.
