Richmond ‘targeted’ home invasion leaves 2 hurt, 6 arrested: RCMP

Mounties in Richmond say two people were hurt, and six people have been arrested in connection with an alleged home invasion on Friday.

The Richmond RCMP says officers were called to a home near Blundell Road and No. 4 Road around 11:30 p.m. for reports of suspects “allegedly forcing their way into the home and assaulting the occupants.”

Two men in their 20s were hurt and taken to the hospital, police say, and the suspects ran away before officers arrived.

After an investigation spanning multiple departments, police say four adults and two youths were arrested in Vancouver and “several firearms and weapons” were recovered.

Mounties note all of the suspects are from different areas of the Lower Mainland.

Investigators say the incident is believed to be targeted and note a Honda sedan was seized.

“This was a highly coordinated response from all the agencies involved,” S/Sgt. Gene Hsieh said.

“Having boots on the ground and eyes in the sky was definitely advantageous in swiftly arresting these suspects and maintaining public safety.”

Mounties are asking anyone with information to call the Richmond RCMP at 604-278-1212 and quote file #2023-14495.
