Nearly 400 vehicles ‘keyed’ at Port Coquitlam dealerships: RCMP

Nearly 400 vehicles in two Port Coquitlam dealerships were damaged in mass car “keying” incidents, according to the Coquitlam RCMP.

Mounties say the vehicles were damaged at the Journey Chrysler Jeep Dodge and Ram dealership on Dominion Avenue, and at the Journey Approved dealership at on Lougheed Highway.

Police say officers received three separate calls related to the alleged incidents between January and April.

One of the businesses’ buildings was also damaged, officers added.

Mounties are now asking for help identifying a female suspect, who investigators believe “systematically” damaged the vehicles.

“It is clear in the videos that the suspect was deliberately scratching the vehicles one-by-one, said Corp. Alexa Hodgins.

“Our investigators are continuing to follow up on any investigational leads, but are requesting the assistance from the public in identifying the suspect.”

The suspect may be driving a Ford Escape, and police are asking anyone with information to call the Coquitlam RCMP at 604-945-1550, and quote file number 2023-9099.
