Vancouver’s FIFA World Cup 2026 branding unveiled

Vancouver’s official FIFA World Cup 2026 branding was released Thursday as the city takes another step towards hosting one of the world’s biggest sporting events.

All 16 North American host cities will have their own logos and branding for the event, with Vancouver’s design taking inspiration from B.C.’s forests, mountains, and scenic views.

City of Vancouver Mayor Ken Sim says this brand launch is “just the beginning.”

“As we prepare to kick off the FIFA World Cup in 26, we’re incredibly excited to showcase Vancouver to the world. Our city’s natural beauty, vibrant culture, and long history of supporting sport and major events will make the World Cup a truly unforgettable experience,” he said in a statement, inviting all Canadians to join in for what he calls a “once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.”

According to Destination BC and BC Stats, the event could bring in around 900,000 tourists to the province and generate over $1 billion for B.C.’s tourism sector over a five-year period.

“Hosting will allow us to profile and promote BC as a prime destination like no other, boosting tourism activity throughout the province for years to come,” said Minister of Tourism, Arts, Culture and Sport Lana Popham.

Over the course of FIFA World Cup 2026, 104 matches will be played in 16 cities throughout Canada, Mexico, and the U.S., and FIFA Vice-President and Concacaf President Victor Montagliani say the event “provides a tremendous opportunity to engage people and bring new fans to the beautiful game.”

Vancouver’s hosted matches will be played at BC Place, home of the MLS’s Vancouver Whitecaps and the CFL’s BC Lions.
