Black bear near Cypress Falls Park, District of West Vancouver warns

Hikers aren’t the only ones out enjoying the sunshine, as it looks like a black bear is in the area of Cypress Falls Park.
In a tweet Monday, the District of West Vancouver says it is asking locals to obey closure signs.
The district says it’s home to several black bears and it’s out with some tips if you do come across one.

If you spot one, it says to stay calm and speak in a firm and clear voice, stay away from the bear as much as possible.
“Almost all human/bear interactions end without incident. If given space, bears will almost always avoid interactions with humans,” it adds.
If you can, it says to also take your family inside the house or into the car.
