Pedestrian fatally struck in Chinatown: Vancouver police

Police in Vancouver say a woman has died after being hit by a vehicle in the city’s Chinatown neighbourhood Wednesday.

According to the Vancouver Police Department (VPD), the collision happened around 12:30 p.m. near the intersection of Main and Georgia streets when a woman was hit while crossing the road.

Police say the woman was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver is cooperating with the investigation, officers added.

The VPD’s Collision Investigation Unit is collecting evidence at the scene, with East Georgia Street closed between Main Street and Gore Street.
