Lotto Max: Victoria ticketholder could be $35 million richer

Someone who bought a Lotto Max ticket in Victoria could be $35 million richer.

The BC Lottery Corporation says a ticket purchased in Victoria for Tuesday night’s draw matched all seven numbers to win the massive sum.

It wasn’t the only one though — another ticket, this time bought in Ontario, also matched all seven winning numbers. That means the $70 million jackpot will be split between the two tickets for a total of $35 million each.

The winning numbers were 4, 7, 13, 16, 31, 32, and 39.

Winners have 52 weeks from the draw date printed on the ticket to claim their prize. The names of the winners, and the specific locations where they bought their tickets, will only be released after the buyers come forward.

The BCLC says “the odds of winning a Lotto Max jackpot are 1 in 33,294,800 per $5 play.” The national Lotto Max draw happens every Tuesday and Friday.

Meanwhile, the Victoria ticket wasn’t the only big winner in B.C. The BCLC says a ticket bought in Richmond won a MAXMILLIONS prize of $500,000.
