Murder charge laid in 2022 Maple Ridge shooting: IHIT

Homicide investigators say one person has been charged in connection with the shooting death of a man in Maple Ridge in the spring of 2022.
The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) announced Friday that 31-year-old Justin Wareing has been charged with second-degree murder in the death of 41-year-old Arthur Comeau.

On April 28, 2022, the Ridge Meadows RCMP responded to reports of shots fired on Carlton Street near 123 Avenue.
When police arrived, they say Comeau was found suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He died at the scene.
At the time, police said the shooting was not related to the B.C. gang conflict.
