Metro Vancouver’s last drive-in theatre closing

Metro Vancouver’s last remaining drive-in movie theatre is closing down after the summer of 2024.

Langley Township’s Twilight Drive-In made the announcement on their Facebook page Thursday evening, citing property taxes for the decision.

It explains their taxes have increased by 260 per cent over the last three years, with a 72 per cent increase coming this year alone.

“We wanted to give all our fantastic drive-in fans lots of notice so that everyone would be able to enjoy the drive-in experience (and drive-in food) as much as possible over the next two summers.”

Twilight Drive-In also asks its supporters to spread the word about the closure to those who have never been to a drive-in… saying it’s “something everyone should experience at least once in their life!”

The theatre has been running at 260th Street and Fraser Highway for 18 years, and thanks all of its regular movie-goers for their support.
